Got Old ?

on December 26, 2013

Earlier today my mom asked me if she was elderly.I pondered my response. No, mom, not until you are 80. Then I remembered the article about the eighty year old that ran the New York marathon. Hhmm. Maybe – No mom, not until you walk real slow. My train of thought led me not too far back to to when she and my dad thought we should walk EVERYWHERE in Paris.

Noticing that I had not answered her, she reworded her question.

“What do doctors consider old?” She’s somewhat critical of doctors. I am not sure where she is going with this.

“Mom, they don’t use adjectives that much.”

” You’re right, they worry more about getting my money.” She said this without missing a loop in the bracelet she was making.

Minutes later, she and my dad were off on some errand.

Sometimes I love her snappiness.

When she stops being snappy, then I’ll worry.
